If it’s magic that you’re hoping for
What would I give?
What would you really like from me?
If I could fly there
I would hide there
underneath your tree.
I would love to watch you open something
big and sparkly
but if its kisses that you’re wishing for
I’ll blow them at the screen.
I made a wish for you
upon a shooting star.
I wished for snow
and to be where you are.
I would you love to hold your hand
and watch the fire on Christmas Eve,
but if it’s magic that you’re hoping for
you know I still believe.
We are miles apart this Christmas,
it wouldn’t do to break the rules.
I’ll still be here for you this Christmas
just call me up, I’ll be your fool.
I’ll drink to me and you this Christmas
I’m never giving up on love
and though it might not snow
and there’s nowhere to go
our star is rising up above.

So that I can love myself
Hiding in the curves and creases, like veins on a leaf, are tiny traces of the love you made to me.
